Jane's Addiction, with Nine Inch Nails will be coming to Alpine Valley this summer. The date is not showing up on any of the usual websites, but confirmation has come from Alpine Valley season ticket holders. More news to follow on that one.

Buffett Plays Alpine Valley in 2009

It's going to be a late summer show for Mr. Jimmy Buffett this year. Most times, he plays Alpine Valley in June. This year it will be on August 29th. That Saturday will be a party for sure. His tour continues on through most of November, where his last scheduled show will be at Madison Square Garden on November 24th.

He must love to play his music, because he is not hurting for cash. Some estimates are that he is worth two billion. When you buy an Alpine Valley Ticket for his show, he's getting a cut.

Cheeseburger in Paradise is one song that I can remember. He doesn't really have a versatile singing style, but his fans are not going to hear a virtuoso. They are going there to drink, get sun burned, drink some more, sing along to his well known hits, and then make sure the designated driver gets them back home in once piece.

I have seen home made pools in the back of pickup trucks, I have seen crazed bikini clad men spilling their beer, and I have been booted in the head with a beach ball. You have to go to one of his shows with an open mind, and a tolerant attitude.
