Coldplay Coming To Alpine Valley In July

July 25th, Coldplay will be performing at Alpine Valley. Yes, they looked like a bunch of low-grade castoffs from a Sargent Pepper's cover band when they were seen at the Grammy's. Yes, people find their singer, Chris Martin to be so self absorbed, but somehow the fans keep coming back for more.

Digging into their history, you will find the typical "met during college, pressed a few hundred cd's, got noticed by someone in the industry, and bam, success" story. Yawn.

They will grace you with their presence in the hills of Wisconsin, and you should feel lucky for that. More Alpine Valley shows to follow.

Dave Matthews Tickets Gone In Minutes

I know that a bunch of tickets go to the fan club members, and I will bet that there were other ways to get Dave Matthews tickets before they went on sale to the public. How do I know this? Because the tickets were gone in a couple minutes during the regular sale this past week. It is amazing how fast the tickets sell for that band.

I have a coworker who already took off for that weekend, because she is going to both performances. There are stories floating around about how fast the tickets sold. When I saw one of the stories on television, I was shocked to find that 29,000 people can fit on the lawn out there. I expected that there were many more reserved seats. That's not the case. The overwhelming majority of Alpine Valley tickets are out in the elements, not under cover, on the grass.
