That charge helps to offset the cost of security for shows like Jimmy Buffett. Imagine the burdon put on local cop shops when 30,000 Parrotheads invade the East Troy area.
Fewer Shows At Alpine for 2011
You can blame it on the fact that some of the Alpine "regulars" were taking a tour break. You can say that competition is forcing bands to perform at other venues. Whatever you think, there were half as many Alpine shows this year. DMB played in Chicago, and other regulars were taking the summer off. What the venue needs is another blockbuster band to call the place home.
